One Hour and Counting...

Yippee, it's Friday at last! I must admit this week at work has not been half bad. I barely worked the parts counter and have been able to do my own job for a change. I even got to take Kat out for Wings and Beers on Wednesday night. We had a BLAST! I'm sorry she has to leave on Sunday for Florida. We ate about 9 wings each, a whole order of onion rings and topped it all off with a big piece of Chocolate cake and ice cream. Not to mention the large beers we drank throughout the evening. Then we played some darts, a few games of pool and closed the night out with the Trivia computer games. I can't believe we were there for 4 hours!! Time just flew by! Neither one of us wanted the night to end. We both were having fun and are sad it would be the last time we hang out. At least until she get's tired of Florida (that's gonna happen) or until I move back to California and make her move again! Farewell my friend! I promise to always keep in touch!

Another Day, Another Dollar

Lately I have been considering quitting my job. Actually it was more the last two weeks. This week I have calmed down a bit and am reconsidering this move. I had an interview on Friday for another motorcycle store that is close to where I live and he said he would hire me, on the spot. However, he also said that I would be working the floor (sales). I knew before I went to talk to him that's what my job would be. But since I have joined the workforce, I have always been behind a computer! And right now, I have a really great job and I enjoy what I do. Except for one small issue. My desk is located behind the Parts counter and we have lost several parts employees in the past 2 weeks which has forced me to work the parts counter. I am NOT a Parts Technician, but I am one of those people who learn quickly and can fit into just about any position they put me in. Since I started here I have worked MotorClothes, Reception, Motorcycle Sales (be it online), Car Sales (from the owners other stores), Parts, E-Commerce and Webmaster! All this over the course of almost 2 years! So I guess it's no surprise that they would just push me wherever they feel I'm needed most. But I have a problem with that! I was hired for Web site design and maintenance and online sales. And this is what I love to do. So I have been getting very upset the last few weeks. Whenever there is a warm day, the people flock in and the 2 or 3 parts techs are simply not enough. So why not hire more techs? Good question! They have signs around the store, but are too damn cheap to put an ad in the paper. We have had those signs posted for MONTHS! Even before the other 2 employees left! And how many applications have we received? Two, that's right, TWO! And neither one of them have experience or want to work Full time!

So me and my friend sat down on Saturday and came up with 2 pages of things that need changed. And I was going to present this to my boss on Monday. Unfortunately, I couldn't find him at the end of the day so I left, thinking I would try again Tuesday. By then, I had cooled down and so had the weather. I was back to doing what I do best! So I let it slide. And I keep thinking about how good I have it here, and I KNOW I am lucky to have this job. But there is a limit to the things I can do. I am only ONE person. And even though I am good a multi-tasking, I am NOT going to take on an entirely new position and be happy about it. Not to mention, my boss hasn't even mentioned anything about it to me. Then again, he really doesn't talk to me much. Every now and again he stops by and asks what I have been up to. But for the most part I am just left to my accord. And that is GREAT!

So that is my dilemma. Not to mention I just bought a new car and I can't afford to make a mistake and go for another job that I wouldn't be happy with and risk having to find another. The job market in Indiana is really not all that great. I have been lucky the entire time I have been here! So I am just going to hang in there and see if things get any better.

Check out the picture of my new car. Can you believe we had a Hail storm in April? Yes, last friday, it hailed for 40 min and flooded our parking lot! All I can say is: Global warming!

Be still and listen to the stillness within

Ahh yes, if only I could quite the constant ramblings from within. There are so many things I could write about, but I just can't seem to focus. So what did I do? I haven't written anything! Not that anybody really reads this or really cares. But I enjoy adding to my blog. I just don't know where I want to take it. Does that make sense?

I guess I will go back to Saturday. (this is for you, Kat) I got to go riding with my friend Kathy for the first and probably the last time. She bought her bike at the end of the season last year and we only recently had the opportunity to ride last week. We both rode to work on Friday and to lunch. Then Saturday I met her on the northside and we rode to lunch (again) and headed toward Broad Ripple, which was a nice little ride. Then we stopped at Starbucks and talked for over an hour! It was a fun time! I am sorry that she will be leaving soon. Kathy has decided to move to Florida, where the weather is always warm and of coarse she has the ocean! How fun! I am so proud of her. She has wanted to make this move for quite some time and now, she is finished with school and the opportunity has arrived. I say to you, Kathy, "Good Luck and Prosperity". You will be missed.

Ahhh...Friday at last

My favorite day of the week! Luckily I get the weekends off, unlike most of my co-workers, who get stuck working the weekends! Only the corporate office gets weekends off, and of coarse me! I don't know how I got so lucky! But I did and I not complaining!

So it's COLD again outside! Cold enough to be wearing a WINTER jacket! WTF? It's now April 1st and I know, there is supposed to be lots of rain! I am not looking forward to it! I just want to have beautiful days, blue skys and sunshine!

Back to work for me! I took a little break to update my blog but I just saw my boss and it looks like he's headed this way!!!
